Call for 2016 SACES Emerging Leaders Nominations

SACES would like to announce the 2016 Emerging Leaders Workshop to be held at the SACES conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 6, 2016.  Leaders within SACES and the counseling profession will conduct the workshop. The Emerging Leaders workshop is designed to: help students and new faculty members discover how leadership can enhance their own professional development; enhance the diversity of SACES; and, engage talented and dedicated counseling professionals to serve as future SACES and/or ACES leaders. 

In addition, the program will provide an overview of SACES leadership opportunities and introduce participants to current SACES leaders. Invited participants will receive lunch during the workshop and a complementary registration to the workshop and to the SACES conference.

A review panel will select attendees with:

  • a demonstrated commitment to the profession of counselor education and supervision,
  • a demonstrated commitment to leadership,
  • a willingness to expanding their leadership potential, and
  • a record of participation in state, regional, and/or national organizations (ACES, ACA, etc.) and conferences 

Persons interested in being considered as an Emerging Leader or an individual submitting a nomination on behalf of someone else for the Emerging Leaders program should forward electronically (in one pdf document) the nominee's vita and a 2-page letter of nomination to:

In the nomination letter, please confirm that the nominee is a SACES member and has not previously received an Emerging Leaders fellowship.  All materials must be received by July 15, 2016.
