Michael Jones is a Professor at Richmont Graduate University.
I
am humbled at the possibility of serving as President-Elect-Elect of
SACES. I am a Professor of Counseling and Assistant Director of the
online counseling program at Richmont Graduate University. I
am a first generation college graduate and the first person in my
family to earn a doctorate degree. I have been a counselor for nearly 20
years and a counselor educator/supervisor for over 10 years.
I have been actively involved in service, leadership, and scholarship with ACES at the National, Regional, and State levels for over 10 years. As a member of SACES, I have served as the Continuing Education Coordinator for our 2018 conference, Co-Chair of the Multicultural Interest Network (2017-2018), Co-Chair of the Technology Interest Network (2015-2016), and an Emerging Leader Fellow in 2014. I served as the President of Arkansas ACES from 2015-2018 and the President of the Arkansas Counseling Association from 2020-2021. I have also presented at ACES, SACES, and Arkansas ACES on multiple occasions.
I believe that my track record of leadership, familiarity with SACES, years of experience as a counselor educator/supervisor and ability to connect with others will serve me well in the position of SACES President-Elect-Elect. I would love to serve SACES in this capacity as we seek to give a voice to those who have been silenced and educate the counselors of tomorrow.
“Real happiness is to be found in benefiting others.” – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
This quote is a guiding tenant of my daily living and speaks to my desire to serve as SACES Secretary. My name is Noelle St. Germain-Sehr and I am excited to have the opportunity to offer to serve my SACES colleagues in the role of SACES Secretary. SACES has been my professional home for over 20 years, and I have received so much from this organization and the relationships that have been built through conferences and service. Although I have served SACES as the Co-Chair of the Women’s Interest Network since 2017 and Chaired the SACES Interest Network Operations Manual Taskforce, I am eager to broaden and deepen my involvement to give back to the organization and professional community that I feel has done so much for me in my professional and personal growth and development. I am a committed social justice advocate who views service as a responsibility to advocate for the voices of all members of the SACES community. I want to be part of this leadership team with a goal of serving SACES members thoughtfully, compassionately, and authentically. It truly brings me happiness to be of benefit to others.
In addition to my academic experience, I have over 20 years of teaching experience and 28 years of clinical experience. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Board-Certified TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH), and an ACISTE Certified Mental Health Professional (ACMHP) trained to assist individuals with integration of spiritually transformative experiences. I have advanced training in transpersonal approaches to counseling, including Induced After-Death Communication (IADC®) Therapy, am an IADC® Trainer, and serve as the Executive Director for the Center for Grief and Traumatic Loss and the International IADC® Board.
Although my position is primarily clinical and administrative in nature, I have published several manuscripts, presented at over 30 professional conferences, hold membership in 14 professional organizations, and have served on several editorial boards, including a current appointment with Counselor Education & Supervision. I happily offer my time, organizational skills, and experience to the SACES community, and I hope to have the opportunity to serve you as SACES Secretary.
